What 3,374 customer orders recorded from April to September 2026 show about eSIM, physical SIM and purchased data allowances.
Sim Card Airport Bali analysed 3,374 orders containing 3,585 sold items. After excluding eight non-connectivity products, the analysis covers 3,577 SIM and eSIM units across 16 purchased data allowances. This report describes purchases in our customer dataset. It does not estimate the behaviour of all visitors to Bali.
Key findings
- 88.7% of classified connectivity units were eSIMs: 3,173 eSIM units compared with 404 physical SIM units.
- eSIM represented at least 85.2% of classified connectivity units in every observed month.
- 10GB was the most-purchased single allowance, with 425 units.
- 21–50GB was the largest allowance band, accounting for 1,090 units or 30.5%.
- The median purchased allowance was 26GB for eSIM and 19GB for physical SIM.
- Recorded item sales peaked at 694 units in August. The six-month dataset is too short to establish seasonality.
88.7% of classified connectivity units were eSIMs
Of the 3,577 SIM and eSIM units in the dataset, 3,173 were eSIMs and 404 were physical SIMs.

| SIM type | Units | Share |
|---|---|---|
| eSIM | 3,173 | 88.7% |
| Physical SIM | 404 | 11.3% |
| Total | 3,577 | 100.0% |
This is the sales mix within Sim Card Airport Bali’s dataset. It is not an eSIM adoption rate for Bali tourists as a whole.
eSIM remained the majority choice in every observed month
The eSIM share of classified connectivity units ranged from 85.2% in April to 90.1% in May. It exceeded 88% in five of the six months.
| Month | eSIM | Physical SIM | Classified units | eSIM share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| April | 402 | 70 | 472 | 85.2% |
| May | 521 | 57 | 578 | 90.1% |
| June | 551 | 69 | 620 | 88.9% |
| July | 513 | 65 | 578 | 88.8% |
| August | 623 | 69 | 692 | 90.0% |
| September | 563 | 74 | 637 | 88.4% |
10GB was the most-purchased single allowance
The dataset contains 16 purchased allowances, from 3GB to 171GB. No single allowance accounted for more than 12% of classified connectivity units.

| Rank | Purchased allowance | Units | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10GB | 425 | 11.9% |
| 2 | 29GB | 394 | 11.0% |
| 3 | 59GB | 364 | 10.2% |
| 4 | 171GB | 332 | 9.3% |
| 5 | 21GB | 321 | 9.0% |
21–50GB was the largest allowance band
We grouped the 16 allowances into five bands before calculating their shares.

| Purchased allowance band | Units | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 10GB | 753 | 21.1% |
| 11–20GB | 585 | 16.4% |
| 21–50GB | 1,090 | 30.5% |
| 51–100GB | 712 | 19.9% |
| More than 100GB | 437 | 12.2% |
These figures measure allowance purchased. The workbooks do not contain actual data consumption, unused balance or top-up activity.
Median purchased allowance differed by SIM type
The median purchased allowance was 26GB for eSIM and 19GB for physical SIM. That seven-gigabyte difference describes the packages sold in this dataset. It does not show that eSIM users consumed more data, stayed longer or had different travel needs.

Most orders contained one item
| Items in order | Orders | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3,194 | 94.7% |
| 2 | 158 | 4.7% |
| 3 | 13 | 0.4% |
| 4 | 9 | 0.3% |
An order with one item does not prove that the buyer travelled alone. The dataset records products, not party composition.
Recorded item sales peaked in August
The monthly sold-item count rose from 473 in April to 694 in August, then declined to 638 in September.

| Month | Orders | Sold items | Recorded Net Sales |
|---|---|---|---|
| April | 442 | 473 | Rp87,907,500 |
| May | 550 | 581 | Rp135,770,000 |
| June | 586 | 620 | Rp144,275,000 |
| July | 536 | 579 | Rp111,805,000 |
| August | 649 | 694 | Rp170,055,008 |
| September | 611 | 638 | Rp162,390,000 |
| Total | 3,374 | 3,585 | Rp812,202,508 |
The report does not attribute the August peak to visitor arrivals, school holidays or another cause. Six months of one company’s sales data cannot establish tourism seasonality.
Methodology
Source and observation period
The analysis uses six monthly order workbooks from Sim Card Airport Bali covering April through September 2026.
Unit of analysis
Orders are the unit of analysis for revenue and order size. Product quantities were expanded to one row per sold item for SIM type and purchased allowance. The expanded data contains 3,585 item rows and reconciles exactly to the source Items sold field.
Product normalisation
Product names changed during the observation period. We parsed each product line into quantity, allowance and SIM type. Explicit product wording took precedence. For legacy product names that omitted SIM type, we used the source JENIS SIM field. Eight Bali Cashless Travel Card E-Money items were excluded from connectivity calculations. The source KUOTA field contained conflicts with some product descriptions, so allowance was parsed from the product line.
Privacy
The source workbooks contained customer names. We removed that column from the clean analysis data and did not use it for matching, segmentation or reporting. This publication contains aggregates only.
Revenue
The workbooks record Rp812,202,508 in Net Sales. We report that total at order level. Some multi-item orders do not provide a defensible item-level allocation, so this report does not publish revenue by SKU, allowance or SIM type.
Denominators
- Order findings use 3,374 unique orders.
- All-item findings use 3,585 sold items.
- SIM type and allowance findings use 3,577 classified connectivity units.
- Monthly eSIM share uses classified connectivity units within each month.
Limitations
This is a census of the supplied Sim Card Airport Bali order records for the six-month period, not a probability sample of Bali visitors. The findings should not be generalised to every tourist, seller or connectivity purchase in Bali.
The workbooks do not contain nationality, trip duration, arrival or pickup time, device model, activation outcome, support issue, actual data consumption, unused balance or a verified customer-level conversion funnel. Monthly movement is descriptive and should not be labelled seasonality without a longer time series.
Public context
BPS Bali recorded 6,948,754 direct foreign visitor arrivals in 2025, up 9.72% from 2024. That figure describes the tourism market, not the sampling frame for this report. Global eSIM research provides context, but global adoption figures cannot be projected onto Bali or our customer base.
